LYNDIE & YOSI - DREAM PONY SESSION - Darke County, Ohio Photographer
I was so happy to have my best friend from high school join me on Friday
night. She helped me out by acting as my ‘guinea pig’ to get ready for
my first ever round of “mini sessions.” If you aren’t aware, mini
sessions are short session usually 15-30 minutes sessions, usually
schedule back to back in several time slots. This weekend I had 19 kids
scheduled to come visit me to get their pictures taken with our pony.
Lyndie has this gorgeous little girl named Yosi who was just perfect to
help me out. Enjoy this little sneak at some of their images.

Just an update to say that I have been keeping up with my commitment to shoot more with my Rebel. These images were captured with my Rebel and the kit lens.
For me the details of every day life are such a wonderful way to remember things. So just shooting while the kids are playing can be so much fun. In a few years they will be much too big to jump on the beds. So while it’s still fun, I let them jump to their hearts’ content.

As we start out this new year, I am committed to putting my old camera, a Canon Rebel T1i, to the test. I get so many messages from newbies starting out saying they wish they had better gear. Better gear does make the job easier for sure…no doubt about that. BUT…and that’s a big BUT…you can do awesome things with entry level gear if you know what you are doing.
So I am pairing my Rebel with a cheap lens (50mm 1.8) and I am setting out to prove you can take professional images with that camera/lens combo. I you would like to see my journey with this camera and lens, follow me on facebook (www.facebook.com/reginabakerphotography) and click on the album labeled “Rebel with a Cause."

Katie and Brandon were the cutest couple. Katie could not stop smiling and laughing. She was so cute. As apparent by the images, she loved incorporating bling into every part of her day. The dress, the shoes, the ring, the bracelet and even the bouquet, which she made herself. The attention to each and every detail really shined through in the final images. I was the second photographer for this wedding. If you need a Chicago wedding photographer, Becky (www.beckybrownphotography.com) is THE photographer you want. She was super easy to work with and really rocked the day.
Katie and Brandon chose the Indiana Statehouse for their wedding and the Marott for their wedding reception. Enjoy!
And this is why I think every wedding couple should have a ‘first look’!! I love capturing true emotions like these :)

Back in August, Stevi from Honey & Salt Photography (http://honeyandsalt.us/photography/) needed a second shooter and I was so happy she chose me to help her out. She was such a pleasant ‘boss’ to work for…even if just for a day. We headed out to The Acorn Farm in Carmel, Indiana. It was such a delightful place for an outdoor wedding. The bride got ready in the old antique store on the premises and the detail shots were so much fun to capture. I just loved Melissa’s old fashioned style. She presented each one of her close friends with a special brooch that she had spent time finding in antique stores.
The day was super warm but I had such a great time being part of their wedding day. Thanks so much for stopping by my little corner of the world wide web!

One of my best friends on this entire planet contacted me a couple weeks ago. She practically begged me to take her son’s pictures. The thing was…she didn’t need to beg me. It’s not often you find another person that so totally ‘gets you’ and when you do find that person, it’s pretty hard to ever forget them.
Alex and his mom drove to me from northern Kentucky. With the time change from this past weekend the light was rapidly disintegrating upon their arrival. If you have done a session with me, you know that I base every location on what the light is doing. We literally ran around the park finding locations and I shot as quickly as I’ve ever shot.
Alex was recently Romeo in his high school play and I was so excited when he suggested bringing his costume. And before you ask, the image of him standing on the hill with a beautiful sunset in the background…yes, that was the actual sunset and it was amazing!! I was lying on the ground in a parking lot to get that image but I really love it. Congrats on your senior year, Alex.

I’ve know Aaron and Lanee for quite a while. They have the most adorable family…of stair step children. They are also so well behaved that it made my job super easy. I loved their cute little smiles and Lanee did an awesome job coordinating their outfits. Here are a few favorites from their family fall session. Enjoy!
